  • Homemade Lemon and Rosemary Sea Salt BBQ Rub

If Dad is a pro on the BBQ and you want to spoil him with something a little foodie this Father's Day, this BBQ salt rub is so simple and delicious.

It uses a combination of fresh ingredients and essential oils. It could also be modified by changing the oils and ingredients, a ginger and lime mix might be another lovely combination to keep on hand.

    You will need:

    • 200 grams sea salt (or to fill a 175ml jar)
    • 3 tbs fresh rosemary leaves, finely chopped
    • Zest of 1/2 lemon, grated
    • 2 drops of pure lemon essential oil
    • A clean glass jar.

    Method:

    -  Preheat the oven to 100 degrees C
     -  Zest the lemon and finely chop the rosemary leaves
    - Add sea salt, rosemary and lemon zest to a food processor. Pulse until the salt            becomes a little finer and everything is well mixed
    - Lay the mixture on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes in the oven
    - Remove it from the oven and let it cool for 15 minutes.
    -  Tip the mix in a bowl and add lemon oil and mix well.
    - Store the salt in a clean glass jar, we like to store ours in the fridge to keep it dry.
